A. Kovacs et G. Telegdy, BEHAVIORAL IMPAIRMENT INDUCED BY CALCITONIN-GENE-RELATED PEPTIDE (CGRP) ANTISERUM IN PASSIVE-AVOIDANCE REFLEX IN RATS, Neuropeptides, 26(4), 1994, pp. 233-236
The effects of CGRP antiserum on passive avoidance behaviour were test
ed in rats. Intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) administration of CGRP an
tiserum immediately after a single learning trial attenuated the passi
ve avoidance responses when the animals were tested for 24 h retention
. Significant decreases in avoidance latency were found at CGRP antise
rum dilutions of 1 : 20 and 1 : 40. The data supported the assumption
that endogenous brain CGRP may be a modulator in learning-associated m
emory processes.
