Abstract
The development of a new recovery system involving direct contact of a dilute suspension of fine particles with a rain of coarse and dense p articles in a packed column is described. The experiments are compleme nted by an analysis of the hydrodynamic behaviour. The experimental re sults show that the behaviour of a dilute multiphase system may be des cribed by two or more diphase systems.
