Abstract
The molecular structure of (IR, lox-yethane)-l-(trimethylsilyl)-methyl cyclopropane (5) has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The compound crystallizes in an orthorhombic system, space group P2(1)2(1 )2(1), with cell dimensions a = 10.098(2), b = 15.048(3), c = 20.880(4 ) angstrom, Z = 4. The structure was solved by direct methods and refi ned by a full-matrix, least-squares procedure to give R = 0.056 (unit weigths). The trans-configuration of benzenesulfonyl group with respec t to the silyloxyethane chain was confirmed.
