P. Ostuni et al., ATYPICAL HYPERGAMMAGLOBULINEMIA-D SYNDROME WITH AMYLOIDOSIS - AN OVERLAP WITH FAMILIAL MEDITERRANEAN FEVER, Clinical rheumatology, 15(6), 1996, pp. 610-612
A case of hypergammaglobulinaemia D and periodic fever syndrome, devel
oping an amyloidosis-related nephrotic syndrome, is reported. Since su
ch a complication represents a typical feature of another disease char
acterized by recurrent febrile attacks, i.e., familial Mediterranean f
ever, an overlap syndrome between these two rare clinical disorders ca
n be suggested.
