Abstract
The optimum conditions for stearamide preparation from stearic acid an d urea are determined. The molar ratio, time of reaction, reaction tem perature and the catalyst were found to be determining factors for the reaction. From the kinetic study, the reaction was found to be a seco nd order reaction. The reaction rates at different reaction conditions were calculated and the energy of activation was evaluated.
