In the experiments on the SPHINX facility, the diffractive production
reaction p + N --> [SIGMA(1385)0K+] + N, SIGMA(1385)0 --> pi0 was stud
ied at the proton energy E(p) = 70 GeV (here, N is a nucleon or a ligh
t nucleus). In the effective mass spectrum of the [SIGMA(1385)0K+] sys
tem produced in this diffractive process, there is no signal from the
anomalously narrow baryon state N(phi)(1960), which had been observed
earlier on the BIS-2 setup. A possible structure X(2050) in the mass s
pectrum of [SIGMA(1385)0K+], manifested in the coherent diffractive pr
ocess on carbon nuclei, is discussed.
