Bp. Adyasevich et al., 2-PARTICLE CORRELATIONS FOR LIGHT NUCLEAR FRAGMENTS IN NUCLEUS-NUCLEUS COLLISIONS AT 3.6-GEV NUCLEON/, Physics of atomic nuclei, 57(2), 1994, pp. 253-259
Correlations between a charged particle, emitted at an angle ranging f
rom 10 to 32-degrees (in the laboratory frame), and a nuclear fragment
(proton, deuteron, or H-3), emitted within the angular range from 45
to 135-degrees, were measured for collisions of C-12 and He-4 nuclei w
ith various target nuclei at 3.6 GeV/nucleon. The correlated emission
of these particles was found to occur in all cases, the correlations b
eing negative, i.e., the fragment and the charged particle are emitted
predominantly in opposite directions. The values of the correlations
were found to depend systematically on the characteristics of the inpu
t and the output channels. These data are consistent with a concept of
collective flow in nuclear matter.
