Abstract
Neuritic plaque-affected neurons may transform into neurofibrillary ta
ngle-bearing neurons in the aging human brain, at varying speeds depen
ding on cell size. Smaller neurons have a greater chance to overcome t
he plaque stage and survive, without tangles.
