Abstract
A 28-year-old, lactating woman came for a routine checkup. Her cytolog ic smear revealed a single larva of Strongyloides stercoralis. On revi ewing the literature on parasites encountered in cytologic smears, S s tercoralis teas found to be extremely rare. Our case is probably the s econd in the world and the first reported from India. A review of the literature on various parasites encountered in the cytologic smear is presented.
