Abstract
Alpha-perfluoroalkyl ketene dithioacetals were synthesized by radical perfluoroalkylation of ketene dithioacetals with perfluoroalkyl iodide and sodium dithionite in a basic medium. Application to sugar derived ketene dithioacetals gave results depending strongly on the sugar str ucture.
