Abstract
Lactonization of olefins with monomethyl ester of malonic acid and cer ic ammonium nitrate was carried out in acetic acid and in acetonitrile under simple mechanical stirring or ultrasound irradiation. Comparati ve results are reported, for activated olefins a good ultrasonic accel eration was observed.
