A model of heterotopic liver transplantation had been studied. The gra
ft was laid under the recipient liver and the portal blood flow was su
pplied by anastomosis with the distal part of the splenic vein. Both l
iver can then receive portal blood through two parallel portal circula
tion. Liver function of transplant was satisfactory at three months af
ter transplantation. Their had been no alteration of the recipient liv
