Abstract
Dynamic in vitro tests were used to study sensitivity to environmental acidity, buffering profile and residence time under simulated gastric conditions of pharmaceutical formulations incorporating the concept o f prolonged gastric residence time (Almagate Flot-Coat(R)). In compari son with classical antacid products the new formulation was shown to h ave a high antacid potency together with a prolonged in vitro gastric residence time.
