We present a new method of measuring the food intake in cormorants bas
ed on stomach temperature recordings. Stomach temperature loggers were
deployed both in captive and in free-living birds. We examine the acc
uracy of this method and compare it with the standard methods of evalu
ating food intake by pellet or stomach content analysis.
