Ow. Parks, STABILITY OF SULFAQUINOXALINE, SULFADIMETHOXINE, AND THEIR N-4-ACETYLDERIVATIVES IN CHICKEN TISSUES DURING FROZEN STORAGE, Journal of AOAC International, 77(2), 1994, pp. 486-488
The N-4-acetyl derivatives of sulfaquinoxaline and sulfadimethoxine we
re stable in fortified chicken liver and thigh muscle tissues during f
rozen storage for 1 year at -20 and -70 degrees C. In contrast, the pa
rent compounds depleted approximately 35% in liver tissues at -20 degr
ees C. The transformation of the depleted sulfa drugs to their n(4)-gl
ucopyranosyl derivatives was negligible, suggesting that products othe
r than glucosides resulted during the storage period.
