We have studied two samples of high-viscosity petroleum from the Ashal
'chinsk deposit, recovered by normal depletion and using steam injecti
on. As the raw material for obtaining sulfoxides, we selected the frac
tion after distillation of the petroleum samples with the highest cont
ent of sulfide sulfur, 225-325-degrees-C. We determined the structural
group composition and calculated the spectral coefficients for the mi
ddle distillate fraction and its oxidates. As a result of extraction u
sing an organic extractant and wash solvent, we obtained sulfoxides an
d sulfones corresponding to technical specifications. The yield of sul
foxides was 9.34 mass % and the yield of sulfones was 15.45 mass % in
the middle distillate fraction.
