Abstract
A study was carried out on the reaction of selenium with carbon monoxi de and monoethanolamine leading to selenocarbamate salts. This reactio n proceeds after an induction period. The reaction rate during this pe riod is proportional to the amount of gas absorbed, which is attribute d to the autocatalytic formation of reactive polyselenides.
