Abstract
The past year saw the molecular characterization of components of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae kinetochore and spindle pole body. In Schizos accharomyces pombe, new cytological methods have been described for de tection of centromeric DNA by light microscopy and probable kinetochor es by electron microscopy.
