Abstract
A compilation of North African Catapyrenium and Placidiopsis species i s presented. Catapyrenium is represented by twelve species in ths area . Catapyrenium imbecillum, C. phaeocarpoides, and C. virescens are rep orted for the first time from Africa. Placidiopsis is represented by t wo species. Pl. cinerascens is new for Africa. The species are keyed, and their general distribution is shortly commented.
