Effect of S and Mo on yield, concentration, uptake and utilization of
fertilizer-S in raya were studied. Dry matter yield of shoots and root
s increased with increasing rates of S application up to 60 ppm, where
as, there was no response to Mo application in both soils. Dry matter
yield of shoots and roots were higher in sandy loam than sandy soil at
70 days. Sulphur application increased concentration and uptake of to
tal and fertilizer-S and decreased the percent utilization of fertiliz
er-S in shoots and roots. Molybdenum application decreased concentrati
on of total and fertilizer-S and percent utilization of fertilizer-S i
n plants and exhibited an antagonistic effect.
