Abstract
-Methoxy-anti-2,3-bis(methoxycarbonyl)prop-2-en-1- ylidene]tricarbonyl iron (5) reacts with Ru(CO)(3)(COD) to give a heterobinuclear vinylcar bene complex, [mu-(1-methoxy-anti-2-(methoxycarbonyl)-mu-3- arbonyl)-1 -3-eta-prop-2-en-1-ylidene)]hexacarbonyl (Fe-Ru) (7) in 78% yield. The complex 7 reacts with triphenylphosphine to give a substituted comple x, [mu-(1-methoxy-anti-2-(methoxycarbonyl)-mu-3- (methoxycarbonyl)-1-3 -eta-prop-2-en-1-ylidene) (triphenylphosphine)]pentacarbonyl(Fe-Ru) (8 ) in 52% yield. The carbonyl group on ruthenium trans to the iron atom in 7 was substituted by the phosphine.
