Abstract
Nematodes identified as Strongyloides sp. were found in the ureters, k idneys, and small intestines of a juvenile Burmese python (Python molu rus bivitattus). Severe nephritis, ureteritis, and enteritis were asso ciated with the presence of the parasites. Definitive identification o f the species was not possible, but the morphology and morphometrics o f the worms were most compatible with Strongyloides gulae, an esophage al parasite of snakes in the lower Mississippi Valley.
