Abstract
The square-planar methoxy compounds Ir-(OMe)(diene)(PR(3)) (diene = CO D, PR(3) = PCy(3) (1); diene = TFB, PR(3) = PCy(3) (2), (PPr3)-Pr-i (3 )) react with 1,1-diphenyl-2-propyn-1-ol to give the hydroxyalkynyl co mplexes Ir{C=CC(OH)Ph(2)}(diene)(PR(3)) (diene = GOD, PR(3) = PCy(3) ( 4); diene = TFB, PR(3) PCy(3) (5), (PPr3)-Pr-i (6)), which by reaction with HBF4 . OEt(2) afford the corresponding allenylidene derivatives [Ir(diene)(C=C=CPh(2))-(PR(3))]BF4 (diene = COD, PR(3) = PCy(3) (7) di ene = TFB, PR(3) = PCy(3) (8) (PPr3)-Pr-i (9)).
