Abstract
The drug gevilon that produces hypolipidemic effects has been clinical ly tested. The drug was used to treat 53 patients suffering from coron ary heart disease, hypertensive disease with severe lipid metabolic di sturbances. Gevilon has been found to have a hypolipidemic effect in r educing the levels of total cholesterol, beta-cholesterol, triglycerid es, increasing alpha-cholesterol levels and normalizing the atherogeni city coefficient. The hypolipidemic effect of the drug is the most pro nounced in Type IIb dyslipoproteinemia. Gevilon is well. tolerated by patients, it can be used in combination with the drugs given in the co mplex therapy for coronary heart disease and hypertension.
