GRAY DOCUMENTATION AS A KNOWLEDGE-BASE IN SOCIAL-WORK

Grey documentation is not a notable source of knowledge within the soc ial work profession. The dominant perspective in social work is the po sitivist-empirical approach which emphasizes the scientific paradigm. The role that grey documentation can play as a knowledge base is prese nted. Five areas were identified where grey documentation can contribu te to the social work knowledge base. Three organizational frameworks which are conducive to the production of grey documentation in the soc ial work profession am described.
