SURGICAL-MANAGEMENT OF CARDIAC MYXOMAS

Nine persons were operated on in the Samara Interregional Cardiosurgic al Center for left atrial myxoma in 1986-1991. Two-dimensional echocar diography was the major technique in making a correct diagnosis. The t umor was found in one patient intraoperatively. An operative access wa s made through the right atrium and atrial septum. The tumor was excis ed at the wide margin of the underlying myocardium. The postoperative period in all patients was smooth.
