Jl. Zeman, ON THE PROBLEM OF ANGULAR MISALIGNMENT AT LONGITUDINAL WELD JOINTS OFCYLINDRICAL-SHELLS, International journal of pressure vessels and piping, 58(2), 1994, pp. 179-184
Angular misalignment at longitudinal weld joints has been discussed in
the literature in the form of a local type of geometric deviation fro
m the ideal cylinder, restricted to the vicinity of the weld joint. In
this paper a (more likely) global type of deviation, resulting from a
residual moment and a residual force, is treated in detail, and the s
tress concentration factor for first- and second-order theory is deriv
ed and discussed, especially with regard to the measurement procedure
which has been proposed.
