Two series of first-row transition metal complexes based on triazolehe
miporphyrazines were prepared by reaction of the free ligands 3a and 4
a with the corresponding metal(II) salt. Compound 4a was prepared eith
er by condensation of the pyridine derivative 5 with 3,5-diamino-1,2,4
-triazole or by reaction of the three-unit triazole 6 with 2,6-diamino
pyridine. Compounds 3 and 4 were characterized by elemental analyses,
IR and FAB-MS. Metallotriazolehemiporphyrazines 3 show electrical cond
uctivities in the range 5 x 10(-12) -2 x 10(-10) S/cm. Oxidation of me
tal complexes 3 with iodine give doped compounds which show increased
conductivity in comparison with the precursors. Doped (iodine) copper
triazolehemiporphyrazine 3f shows semiconducting properties (1.0 x 10(
-6) S/cm).
