This paper represents further attempts to estimate the diffusivity of
hydrogen in alpha-Pd at 50-degrees-C in the course of three different
diffusion-elastic processes involving absorption, equilibration of con
centrations, and desorption of hydrogen, respectively. The numerical r
esults, obtained by a least-squares treatment indicate a statistically
significant difference between values derived by absorption and equil
ibration procedures on one hand and values obtained from desorption st
udies on the other. General reasoning seems to indicate a preference f
or the equilibration derived values for the hydrogen diffusion coeffic
ients as the most reliable.
