Dv. Kachalkov et Na. Gratsiansky, ANGINA OF NEW-ONSET - PREDICTIVE VALUE OF PLASMA-FIBRINOGEN LEVELS FOR CLINICAL REMISSIONS DURING 1-1.5-YEAR FOLLOW-UP, Kardiologia, 33(3), 1993, pp. 16-18
A repeated 13.5-month follow-up of 51 patients after hospitalization f
or angina of new onset showed a clinical remission in 13 (26%) patient
s. According to the primary examination findings, the patients with cl
inical remission had lower fibrinogen levels than those without remiss
ion (432+/-94 versus 542+/-196 mg/dl; p=0.011). Multifactorial analysi
s demonstrated that the plasma level of fibrinogen was closely related
to the occurrence of a clinical remission to the same extent as the '
'routine'' predictors, such as the number of coronary arteries, was as
sociated with hemodynamically significant stenoses and the results of
exercise tolerance test.
