Rel. Monaco et Gg. Cabrera, THE DOUBLE-SLIT EXPERIMENT, THE AHARONOV-BOHM EFFECT, AND A NEW QUANTUM POTENTIAL-THEORY - TOWARDS A REALISTIC INTERPRETATION OF QUANTUM-MECHANICS, Foundations of physics letters, 7(1), 1994, pp. 1-20
In this paper, a new proposal of the quantum potential theory is prese
nted, along with a discussion of the two-slit interference experiment
and the Aharonov-Bohm effect, which are explicitly calculated within t
he scheme adopted. The present formulation holds the notion of particl
e trajectory and follows the interpretation suggested by de Broglie an
d Bohm, the quantum potential being a manifestation of the quantum wav
e. This wave always satisfies the Schrodinger equation and is consider
ed as a real and separate entity from the particle with which is assoc
iated. In our approach we try to circumvent some conceptual difficulti
es that prevent the de Broglie-Bohm's theory from fulfilling a complet
e objective program. New effects axe predicted, specially for the Ahar
onov-Bohm experiment in the regime of high magnetic fields, and a setu
p for their detection is proposed.
