Abstract
The aim of this research was to investigate the modeling and control o f a 25 kW, 13.6 litres/hour pilot-plant climbing film evaporator conce ntrating an aqueous sodium nitrate Solution. This paper reports on the effectiveness of gain-scheduled linear lumped parameter models for th e identification of the climbing film evaporator for the specific purp ose of developing and designing industrially-viable process control sy stems.
