Abstract
The myocardial function and metabolism were assessed in 12 patients wi th coronary heart disease intraoperatively during aortocoronary bypass surgery. The antioxidative properties of the blood of the heart were found to become lower along with activated peroxidation after the majo r stage of an arrested heart operation, that correlated with depressed myocardial function.
