Abstract
Bulbar conjunctival microcirculation, aggregation of platelets and red blood cells, skin oxygen balance were studied in 22 patients with Sta ge Il hypertensive disease. Captopril was found to decrease not only b lood pressure, but aggregation of platelets and red blood cells and to improve tissue oxygen supply. With inadequate doses of the drug, an e xtreme lowering in blood pressure resulted in deteriorated skin oxygen supply along with unaltered aggregation of cellular elements.
