Abstract
A kinematically complete He-4(gamma,pn)H-2 measurement was carried out in the photon energy (E(gamma),) range 145-425 MeV, The total cross s ection (sigma(alpha)) forms a prominent structure whose peak lies at E (gamma) similar to 245 MeV (the pnd invariant mass of 3960 MeV/c(2)). The ratio sigma(alpha)/sigma(d), where sigma(d) is the deuteron photod isintegration cross section, shows a step-like rise to a value of 6 at E(gamma) similar to 140 MeV.
