Gh. Biego et al., DETERMINATION OF TIN CONTENT IN FRUITS, V EGETABLES AND THEIR JUICES ACCORDING TO PACKAGING, Sciences des aliments, 16(6), 1996, pp. 623-630
The tin contents of fruits or vegetables and of their juices according
to different types of packaging (lacquered cans, unlacquered cans or
bottled cans) were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spect
rometry (ICP-MS). Tin levels in foods preserved in unlacquered cans wa
s significantly higher (p < 0.01) than in those preserved in lacquered
or bottled cans. These levels are comparable with those responsible f
or nutritional disorders in animal.
