Abstract
We present the dominant two-loop O (G(F)2M(H)4) electroweak correction s to the fermionic decay widths of a high-mass Higgs boson in the stan dard model. The corrections are negative and quite significant, and ar e larger in magnitude than the one-loop electroweak corrections for M( H) greater than or similar to 400 GeV. This indicates the onset of a b reakdown of perturbation theory in the Higgs sector of the standard mo del at a surprisingly low value of the Higgs-boson mass.
