We show that low-temperature fluorescence spectra of large high-qualit
y C60 single crystals are mainly composed of several, independent pair
s of T(lg) false origins. In analogy to the case of anthracene single
crystals the series of emission bands can be interpreted in terms of e
xciton (Frenkel) emission from so-called X traps. Temperature dependen
t luminescence experiments support this interpretation.
