Abstract
Pt-catalyzed H-D exchange of cholestane-3,6-dione under strictly defin ed conditions gives, after proper functional change, cholesterol that is labelled at positions 1 (partially), 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 (a, partially), and 23 to 27.
