Abstract
Extended pulmonary resections with complete dissection of mediastinal lymph nodes, and the growth in neo-adjuvant therapies, led us to defin e preventive methods to promote uncomplicated bronchial healing. Ninet een patients were operated on in conditions of high risk of impaired b ronchial healing. They underwent bronchial revascularization either by omentopexy (12), or intercostal pedicle flap (7). 10/12 preventive om ental pedicle flaps permitted correct healing, 7 preventive intercosta l pedicle flaps permitted only 3 good results. This short series confi rmed experimental data, and encouraged us to increase preventive bronc hial omentopexy.
