Excited states of Sn-114 have been investigated via the Cd-112(alpha,
2n) non yrast compound nucleus reaction at a projectile energy of 28 M
eV. The experiments consisted of gammagamma-coincidence, gamma-ray ang
ular distribution and gamma-ray linear polarization measurements. The
comparison of the excitation energies of the non collective yrast and
yrare states in Sn-114 and 146Gd shows remarkable similarities and cor
roborates the concept of valence mirror nuclei.
