Abstract
Findings on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in two cases of traumatic cervical fracture associated with ankylosing spondylitis are presente d. In such patients cervical fracture usually occurs in the lower cerv ical spine from hyperextension injuries. Classic radiologic investigat ions including plain films, myelography, and computed tomography are i nsufficient because of osteopenia and distorted anatomy: MRI is superi or to other techniques.
