Abstract
The diffuse component of the light scattered by a slightly rough surfa ce is described in terms of the two-dimensional wavelet transform of t he surface height variation. From the values of the integrated intensi ty in the transform domain, the autocorrelation function of the surfac e height variation can be directly obtained.
