Abstract
The use is described of comparative ESPI technique for the separation of vibration modes when a system is vibrating simultaneously in differ ent modes at more than one frequency. The method allows determination of the amplitude due to each of the modes without the disturbance of t he amplitude due to the other modes. It is shown that the technique wo rks only with irrationally related modes and is not applicable to rati onally related modes.
