Abstract
The chloro-bridged dimeric structure of the title compound, bis [benzo thiazole-2(3H)-thione]-1 kappa S;2 kappa S-di-mu-chloro-1:2 kappa(4)Cl -bis(triphenylphosphine)-1 kappa P;2 kappa P-di-copper(I) dihydrate, [ Cu2Cl2(C7H5NS2)(2)(Ph(3)P)(2)].2H(2)O, is reported. The molecule is ce ntrosymmetric with a Cu ... Cu distance of 3.400 (2) Angstrom and two Cu-mu-Cl distances of 2.396 (2) and 2.516 (2) Angstrom. The heterocycl ic ligand benzothiazole-2(3H)-thione acts as a monodentate ligand coor dinating to copper through the S atom, with a Cu-S distance of 2.304 ( 3) Angstrom. A hydrogen bond between the mu-Cl and heterocyclic N atom is also found, with a Cl ... N distance of 3.134 (6) Angstrom and a C l ... H-N angle of 162.4 degrees.
