Abstract
The title compound, C7H6N4O.1.5H(2)O, is a key intermediate in the syn thesis of mesogens, which are derivatives of phenyltetrazole. The tetr azole and phenyl rings are planar to within 0.007 (2) Angstrom, with a dihedral angle of 14.8(1)degrees between the planes.
