Abstract
Cadmium induced lipid peroxidation (LPO) in presence of iron and incre ased oxygen uptake in isolated rat liver mitochondria. In the absence of iron Cd showed an inhibition in LPO and no increase in oxygen uptak e by the mitochondria. The increased oxygen uptake by the mitochondria in presence of Cd and iron correlates with the increased LPO.
