Sr. Babu et Jm. Britton, THE ROLE OF STEROID INJECTION IN THE MANAGEMENT OF CARPAL-TUNNEL SYNDROME, Journal of orthopaedic rheumatology, 7(1), 1994, pp. 59-60
Injection of steroid preparations into the carpal tunnel is one method
of treating carpal tunnel syndrome. Based on a prospective study of 2
0 cases, we would only recommend this treatment to those with symptoms
of less than 1 year duration and without neurological deficit. As a d
iagnostic tool it may be useful in a wider range of patients. This sim
ple technique should be within the armamentarium of rheumatologists an
d general practitioners.
