The paper discusses one of the approaches to the kinetics and hydrodyn
amics of dense gases and liquids based on modification of Bogolyubov's
conditions of correlation weakening for the Liouville equation for th
e nonequilibrium distribution function. An entropy of a nonequilibrium
state that depends on both the kinetic and the hydrodynamic parameter
s is defined. Generalized transport equations are obtained for the hyd
rodynamic variables, and these equations are consistent with the kinet
ic equation for the single-particle distribution function.
