Abstract
Degeneration of a steady wave in self-propagating high-temperature syn thesis (SHS) is considered in the paper. An analytical expression for the derivative of the squared combustion rate with respect to the ''cu toff temperature'' of a thermal source is obtained. It is shown that t here is a domain of combustion parameters for which the combustion wav e can be roughly considered steady.
